Carla Stoddard, LCSW
I have been a therapist for children, adolescents, families and adults for over twenty years. I received a Masters of Social Work degrees from the University of Utah in 1996. My clients have triumphed over severe trauma and sexual abuse, depression, and divorce. I worked for Primary Children’s Medical Center for 17 years with adolescents in residential and day treatment, including 8 years working with chemical dependency.
In 2008, I completed the Graduate Certificate in Conflict Resolution from the U of U. I have also been trained in Parent Coordination, Collaborative Divorce, and had AFCC (Association of Family and Conciliatory Courts) training to work with clients who are court involved, including reunification therapy and parents involved in high-conflict divorce. Since 2013 I have been in private practice working with adults and children over 10 years old. Here is access to my VITA:
Therapy can be a rewarding journey leading to healing and growth. It takes courage and can seem daunting at times. I have been trained in a many therapeutic interventions including sand tray therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, schema therapy and more. I stay attuned to the research on best practice models and study to increase my understanding of brain science and neuropsychology. There is a plethora of research that leads us to be hopeful about the role of psychotherapy and sometimes medication to make lasting improvement in our ability to cope and reduce emotional and psychological pain.
Specialities: Depression, anxiety, substance abuse, trauma, sexual abuse, family conflict, grief and loss, interpersonal and internal conflict relating to sexuality, sexual and gender identity, spiritual crisis, and couples counseling. I have expertise in schema therapy. I have also been trained in Parent Coordination, Collaborative Divorce, and have had AFCC (Association of Family and Conciliatory Courts) training to work with clients who are court involved, including family systems therapy, reunification therapy, and co-parent therapy for those involved in high-conflict divorce.
Fees and Insurance
I accept Regence BlueCross/Blue Shield, Aetna, and University Health Plans. Insurance can only be billed for mental health therapy. Since this sometimes changes, contact your insurance company to verify if I am an in-network provider. If I’m not on your plan, you can ask about out-of-network rates, benefits, and single-case agreements.
Insurance can only be billed for mental health therapy where there is a mental health diagnosis that is the focus of treatment.
Court ordered services such as Co-Parent Therapy, Reunification Therapy and Parent Coordination ARE NOT COVERED under insurance plans. The hourly rate for court ordered services vary but require a $1500 retainer to begin services. It’s important to know what the court order says. Please check to see if I have availability to take a court-ordered case prior to having my name added to a court order.
